The Brio Pain Free Living Program is a 3 step program customized to suit your specific injury and level of pain. Whether you are involved in a motor vehicle accident, a sports injury, or have chronic pain from arthritis or fibromyalgia, we can help you. This program is not about “masking” your pain symptoms like most medications do; it guides your body towards proper long term healing.
The goal of Phase 1 is to get you out of pain as quickly and naturally as possible. When the body is injured, the muscles and connective tissue tighten up in that area. The pressure builds up from the swelling and your nervous system begins sending pain signals to your brain. The first step of our program is to break this “pain cycle” and reduce the inflammation.
We move to Phase 2 when you experience a significant reduction in pain from Phase 1. However, simply being out of pain does not mean you are cured. Treatments in Phase 2 help nourish and energize your injured cells so they properly repair. We restore proper range of motion and restore balance in the muscles, joints and fascia. Completing phase 2 will protect you from future injuries.
The main objective of phase 3 is to strengthen the muscles and connective tissue. It is very important to begin this phase only when patients are pain free and have properly healed their injuries. Too often, patients are told to exercise and strengthen too early during their road to recovery, which puts them at-risk for re-injuries. Phase 3 is about appropriate exercises for long term maintenance.
