Farewell Brio Blog
As we near the last month of Brio Integrative Health Centre, we interviewed several of the Team Members and asked them some parting questions.
Today we ask Dr. Jeff a few questions:
Dr. Jeff, you have been with Brio since the very beginning. I’m sure there are so many memorable moments for you in the past 15 years. What are some lessons that you learned working at Brio?
That’s a hard question to answer! I have grown so much both personally and professionally in the past 15 years. One lesson that I am constantly reminded about is the amazing healing potential the body has when things are in balance. A balanced body follows healthy rhythms of rest, cleansing and nourishment. I have had the privilege of witnessing complex skin problems heal, chronic pain get resolved, insomnia disappear and even complicated digestive issues get alleviated. The human body has this amazing ability to heal when we remove obstacles and provide the proper care.
Another important lesson I had to learn was to overcome the rigid mindset of our current medical model. Simply focusing on symptoms is not the best solution. Healing from the inside-out leads to lasting change. My long term patients understand that I address all aspects of health including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. When people have the commitment to address all these levels of health, they thrive!
What are you going to miss the most?
I will definitely miss the wonderful team we have at Brio. We are all from different backgrounds and quirky in our own ways. We laughed a lot together and we supported one another.
The team at Brio was truly one of a kind. Our core values included trust, collaboration, innovation and community. We did our best to practice those values consistently which helped us create a great culture at the clinic. It was such a joy to come to work everyday.
I especially want to thank and honor Dr. Neetu for being such a pivotal leader of the Brio Team. She had incredible vision and executed so many great ideas to help Brio flourish. She created the Brio Living program, orchestrated Brio’s 10-Year Anniversary Celebration and got the entire team to go on Facebook Live to serve our patients during the start of the pandemic. In addition to helping me develop as a health professional, Dr. Neetu also spoke a lot of truth into my life that helped me become a better person. As our journey takes us into different directions, I’ll miss working with her on a daily basis.
What are you looking forward to most?
In this new chapter of my career, I am looking forward to dedicating more time creating various resources to support patients in their healing journeys. For example, because patients often struggle with consistency when it comes to eating right, stress management and getting enough rest, I am working on a project to empower patients to be proactive with their health. This will involve actionable steps and tools to inspire them to build healthy habits.
While I’ll continue to practice naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, and IV therapies at my new practice, I look forward to incorporating prevention and healthy aging in the future.
